Short Biography

Chaochao Lu is a PhD student at the University of Cambridge, where he is co-supervised by Prof. Zoubin Ghahramani and Prof. José Miguel Hernández-Lobato, and also jointly supervised by Prof. Bernhard Schölkopf and Dr. Michael Hirsch at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems under the Cambridge-Tübingen PhD Programme.

Previously he obtained the M.Phil degree at Department of Information Engineering in the Chinese University of Hong Kong under the supervision of Prof. Xiaoou Tang. He also works closely with Prof. Chen Change Loy and Prof. Xiaogang Wang. Before that, he received the B. Eng degree from Software Institute, Nanjing University in 2012.

Research Interests

My main research interests include machine learning and computer vision, especially involving how to combine advantages of causality, Bayesian nonparametrics as well as deep learning, and apply them to large-scale computer vision and artificial intelligent problems.
